Knit and Natter
Church House every Thursday from 10am-12.
Knit and Natter started quite a few years ago in the home of Julie Hancock at Belmont Hill and along with the help of Lyndsey Millington the numbers grew rapidly and they had to move to the Church House to accommodate everyone. These days there are approximately 15 to 20 attending where they have a good laugh, chat, knitting, crocheting and refreshments.
There is a rota for people to take turns in making tea, bringing in the milk and cake to share the load.
There is no charge to join Knit and Natter, just a donation pot on the table. This money is donated to various charities and some to the upkeep of Church House.
Knit and Natter often have charitable knitting projects on the go including newborn hats for Addenbrookes Hospital, blankets and scarves for the homeless and the Shoebox appeal to name a few, people can also bring their own knitting/sewing or crocheting or if you are a non knitter, you can just come and have a chat.
Who knows, you might learn to knit one, pearl one while you're there! There's plenty of help if you'd like to learn, all levels are more than welcome.
